Dr. Ribera is dedicated to the treatment of patients infected with HIV/AIDS for more than 25 years.
He has received numerous scientific awards, such as University Award for Excellence from Faculty of Medicine, PhD Award for Excellence, Josep Trueta Award for scientific investigation from Medical Sciences Academy of Catalunya and Balears, Award for the best scientific publication from Spanish Society of Chemotherapy.
Member of AIDS related institutions, such as International AIDS Society, European Clinical AIDS Society, and SEIMC/GESIDA. Member of the Clinical Trials Committee of Hospital Vall d’Hebron. Member of the Subcomissió de Malalties Infeccioses de la Comissió Farmacoterapèutica de l’ICS.
He has special interest in research mainly related to HIV clinical trials, AIDS cohort studies, tuberculosis and other opportunistic AIDS related infections, and pharmacokinetics of antiretroviral drugs, within this field. Principal researcher on multiple research projects and Group Leader of the Spanish Network of Research into AIDS (RIS).
More than 200 articles published in national and international journals, with an impact factor higher than 700. Moreover, he is the author of diverse books and numerous reviews related to HIV/AIDS. He is a member of the Spanish Pannel of HIV/AIDS Treatment Guidelines.
